Dave Favis-Mortlock: Childe of Hale

Childe of Hale. Early-mid 1980s folk-rock of a more melodic kind: Mandy Evans on vocals and keyboards, Andy Norman on bass, Pete Kenna on guitar and accordion, me on fiddle etc. "Giant music!", as we put it in our publicity material.

This was a really enjoyable band to be in. We were based in Warwickshire, and spent hours in the pub at Fenny Compton where Andy worked, attempting to write songs. We gigged mostly in the midlands. Once at a dodgy beer festival, where the floors were awash with liquids of all kinds (yuk!).
