I did just two gigs with painter Rob Chilcott (who was also my boss in the local music shop where I worked, The Music Gallery) as the Rat and Bat Barn Dance Band, playing loud folk-rock. The first was in the back yard of the Wheatsheaf pub in Banbury. Half-way through, the pub got a complaint about the noise. This was from the adjacent crematorium. "We're raising the dead now, we're that good..." OK, we were young and insensitive then. |
